Folsom Day of Service

Food Drive

Each year the Folsom Stake participates in Folsom's Day of Service, usually held on the 3rd Saturday in September. And each year, the Folsom Stake leads the city-wide Food Drive that covers all the residential properties of the city to collect food donations for the Twin Lakes Food Bank. The original participants in the annual food drive were members of the Folsom wards in the Stake. But as the city has grown, the stake has expanded participants to include members from the El Dorado Hills wards as well as other religious groups in the city. In 2024, the Folsom Stake worked with the following organizations: Lakeside Church, Trinity Episcopal, Oak Hills Church, the Muslim Community of Folsom, the Charities League, Hands for Hope, Winco, Micron Technology, and Kaiser Permanente.

One of the  more popular steps in the Food Drive is the "Youth Stapling Night", where our stake youth gather at Scholar Way and staple Food Drive flyers to 30,000 grocery bags donated by Winco. This is usually done as a Stake Youth activity and because of the large number of youth that participate, is held over two week-nights. This year youth from the Mulsim Community of Folsom and Oak Hills Church also attended. Stapling Night was also covered by The Folsom Times.
